Topic: You, the Advocate.

Choose a human services-related situation. Once you have selected a situation in a community, address it by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, to a government official, or to a private/public agency or organization. Keep ethical considerations in the forefront of your mind when working on this assignment – refer to the reading. This should be an advocacy letter intended to help the agency with setting goals by sharing your concern, addressing the goals, and requesting specific action. The letter does not need to be mailed to the editor to count for credit and should not be mailed before instructor reviews the letter. Be creative, but make this meaningful and with purpose as a collective group of advocates for a cause. The letter should be least 300 words.
