Determine Riordan’s manufacturing strategy (chase, level, or combination) and explain its benefits

• Create a process flow diagram for the electric fan supply chain
• Select two metrics to evaluate performance of the electric fan supply chain
• Describe the supplier relationship and the effects on the supply chain.  As part of this consider the following:

• • Type of relationship
  • Supplier location, size of company, and financial stability
  • Metrics used to measure supplier performance (on-time delivery, defects, etc)

• Describe how lean production principles may be used to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the electric fan supply chain process

As you work on the project plan for your project, Mike, one of the marketing strategists on your team, stops at your office door wanting to talk. “We use fabrics that are made domestically; however, there are issues with using these same fabrics globally. There are laws and regulations that prevent us from shipping these fabrics to other countries. This is a huge concern. One of our primary selling points is the consistency of quality of our product.”

You confirm Mike’s concern, “That’s an excellent point,” you say. “Now you’ve just given yourself and our team more work for the presentation. I’m sure that will come up. One of the board members used to run a textile plant in China.”

Mike nods his head in agreement. “I imagine textiles will not be the only resource concern,” he says.

Assignment 1: Web Server Application Attacks

It is common knowledge that Web server application attacks have become common in today’s digital information sharing age. Understanding the implications and vulnerabilities of such attacks, as well as the manner in which we may safeguard against them is paramount, because our demands on e-Commerce and the Internet have increased exponentially. In this assignment, you will examine the response of both the U.S. government and non-government entities to such attacks.

To complete this assignment, use the document titled “Guidelines on Securing Public Web Servers”, located athttp://csrc.nist.gov/publications/nistpubs/800-44-ver2/SP800-44v2.pdf, to complete the assignment. Read the Network World article, “40% of U.S. government Web sites fail security test” also, located athttp://www.networkworld.com/news/2012/031512-dnssec-survey-2012-257326.html.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

1. Examine three (3) common Web application vulnerabilities and attacks, and recommend corresponding mitigation strategies for each. Provide a rationale for your response.
2. Using Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia, outline an architectural design geared toward protecting Web servers from a commonly known Denial of Service (DOS) attack. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.
3. Based on your research from the Network World article, examine the potential reasons why the security risks facing U.S. government Websites were not always dealt with once they were identified and recognized as such.
4. Suggest what you believe to be the best mitigation or defense mechanisms that would help to combat the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) concerns to which the article refers. Propose a plan that the U.S. government could use in order to ensure that such mitigation takes place. The plan should include, at a minimum, two (2) mitigation or defense mechanisms.

The laws that govern business were not brought into existence overnight. Laws are a result of society’s changing concepts of what is right and what is wrong. When circumstances change within society, then many times laws must be developed or revised to assist in preventing and solving problems. For this week’s Business Law Research, develop a 1-2 page summary in Microsoft Word discussing the development of law in America .

Where did our legal system originate from? Discuss the development of the court system; Special Federal Courts, Federal District Courts, Federal Courts of Appeal, United States Supreme Courts, State Courts, Inferior Courts, Courts of Original General Jurisdiction, and Appellate Courts. Explain when each court system was developed, why it was developed, and what each specified section of the court system does.
