The Process
1. Read a text and pose a research question (inductive reasoning)
2. Choose a standard psychological model (such as Freud’s theory of psychosocial development) that will assist in answering your research question
3. Psychoanalyze a character using the model you have chosen (deductive reasoning).
4. Formulate a response to your research question. This will be your essay’s thesis.
5. Using the techniques you have learned from M01A and M01B, write your paper.
Sample Outline
