1. The correct approach or tone is explanatory, though you will use argumentation to present your evidence.
2. Your research essay will begin with a Cover Page and end with References. Note that it must include an abstract.
3. As usual for essays in our class, use Times New Roman font, size 12. Standard margins. Double-spaced. Page numbers inserted in upper right hand corner. Running header (shows up on each page) in upper right hand corner beside the page number; the running header is an abbreviated version of your title.
4. You must create at least one graph / chart as a visual aid in your essay. In Word: Insert > Chart
5. You must use at least five sources. These will be documented under References. At least three sources must be from EBSCO.

ESSAY TOPIC: Design a small country that fosters the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.

1. To do so, you\’ll create policies and rationalize them using evidence from your research.
2. You\’ll need to define clearly your terms (happiness, greatest number, etc.).
3. Organization: Your essay will have an introduction paragraph, several body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph–a beginning, middle, and end. Total length (including title page, abstract, and references) = ~10 pages.
4. Each body paragraph must include at least one source from research.
5. Your body paragraphs will zoom in on five or more national interests. Examples include: class, race, ideologies (belief systems, religions, and so on), urban design, architecture, transportation, renewable resources, leadership / system of government, arts (painting, literature, music, film), military, cuisine, physical / mental health of citizens, entertainment, invented history, scientific innovation / research, technology, health care, family structure, economic policies, business practices, imports / exports, geographic location, topography, natural habitat…. and any others you can think of.
6. To reiterate: You are creating a country. Although a research paper, this is also a form of creative writing. Pick five or more national interests on which to focus. Support your proposed policies with concrete evidence from EBSCO articles and other online research.

Protection of human subjects is an equally important concept for all providers who translate research into practice through a practice-change initiative. The main contents of this section are the exchange rate risk of Philips (http://www.philips.com/) faced in HongKong and how can the company manage this risk. Hence, please make sure the paper covers the following contents:

1) Provide the trends of EUR/HKD over the last 10 years as evidences.

2) Provide definitions for Foreign exchange rate risk. Also, apply literature to describe the three main major foreign exchange exposures (Transaction Exposure, Translation Exposure, and Operating Exposure) Briefly.

3) Apply literature to analyse how can Philips manage foreign exchange rate risk. Tools include Hedging and Financial Derivatives such as forward or futures contract, options, etc. You need to discuss the benefits and limitations each method of foreign exchange rate risk management using in this paper. For example, natural hedging, benefits of using it to Philips? Any limitations? Provide references for your discussion.

As this is a part of a group work. Hence, do not do any introduction and Conclusion in this paper.

7. How to Structure the Project Proposal
Your Project Proposal must cover all the items explained below. The length of the Project Proposal is 1,500 words (plus or minus 10%).
Please note that you must follow all the usual rules detailed in the AIB Style Guide including guidelines regarding citing and referencing.
An example of a Project Proposal is attached in Appendix F. You may wish to refer to the example as you work through the materials. It is highly recommended that you do so.

8. How to Structure the Project Report
This section of the materials describes the structure of the Project Report. Note that an example Project Report is included in Appendix G.
The total length of the Project Report is 5,500 words (plus or minus 10%). Please monitor the word limit because you will be penalised if you go under or over the limit (as detailed in the AIB Assessment Policy available on the website).
This word limit does not include your title/cover page, the executive summary, table of contents, list of references, or appendices. So, you may decide to place into the appendices any supporting material that exceeds the word limit. However, a reader should not have to look at an appendix to understand the main thrust of the points you are making in your Project Report. Make sure all your main points are in the body of your Project Report and then refer the reader to the appendices for detail. (Note that relevant supporting material in these appendices that demonstrates thoughtful application of concepts could help your mark.)
