Topic: quantitative Reasoning and Analysis (statistics for health education ) week 6 D

Discussion: Research Design and t Tests: How Are They Connected?
The best way to solidify your understanding of statistical testing is to actually engage in performing some data analysis. This week you will work with a real, secondary dataset to construct a research question, perform a t test, and interpret the results.

Whether in a scholarly or practitioner setting, good research and data analysis should have the benefit of peer feedback. For this Discussion, you will post your response to the hypothesis test, along with the results. Be sure and remember that the goal is to obtain constructive feedback to improve the research and its interpretation, so please view this as an opportunity to learn from one another.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the Learning Resources and the media programs related to t tests.
Using the SPSS software, open the High School Longitudinal Study dataset found in this week’s Learning Resources and construct a research question that involves a comparison of a means test.
By Day 3
Use SPSS to answer the research question you constructed and post your response to the following:
What is your research question?
What is the null hypothesis for your question?
What research design would align with this question?
What comparison of means test was used to answer the question (be sure to defend the use of the test using the article you found in your search)?
What dependent variable was used and how is it measured?
What independent variable is used and how is it measured?
If you found significance, what is the strength of the effect?
Identify your research question and explain your results for a lay audience, what is the answer to your research question?
Be sure to support your Main Post and Response Post with reference to the week’s Learning Resources and other scholarly evidence in APA Style.

Topic: HR Motivation Theories

Could You create a question of your choice based on motivation theories and relate to HR.

based on this structure:

Guidance on the structure of a Dissertation
Note this is an indicative structure only

Chapter One-Introduction

The purpose of this chapter is to justify the topic of the dissertation or research project as being worthy of research.

To do this successful the student should:
Introduce the topic and its context.
Locate the topic within current academic literature.
Draw from non-academic literature sources (e.g. specific company literature, government reports, newspapers etc.) to demonstrate the wider relevance of the topic.
Show the contemporary nature of the study.
Present the research questions to be studied as a logical consequence of the argument they have constructed.
Summarise the chapter and introduce the next chapter.

(Proportion of word count, approximately 10%)

Chapter Two-Literature Review
Do not cut and paste text into the literature review.

The purpose of this chapter is to review and critically analyse the academic literature pertinent to the research question(s) – this chapter also provides material to be used in the data collection stage.

To do this successfully the student should:
Ensure the reviewed literature is relevant by using the research question(s) as sub-headings, at least in the draft stage.
Demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the academic debates relevant to their topic.
Critically analyse key contributions, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, testing their internal consistency, and acknowledging and presenting the inevitable counter-arguments.
Avoid presenting literature uncritically – this does not demonstrate understanding.
Avoid presenting only the positive side of an argument, as a researcher he/she must acknowledge and evaluate the negative aspects of their chosen topic.
Summarise the chapter and introduce the next chapter.

(Word count 40%)

Chapter Three-Research Methodology

The purpose of this chapter is to justify the research methodology chosen by the student as following accepted academic convention.
To do this successfully the student should:
Support and substantiate his/her claims throughout with reference to appropriate research methodology literature.
Justify the research strategy chosen.
Ensure the strategy is consistent with his/her identified research approach (qualitative or quantitative for example).
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the type of research approach chosen and the data collection methods employed.
Identify the limitations of the research.
Summarise the chapter and introduce the next chapter.

(Word count 15%)

Chapter Four-Data Presentation and Analysis

The purpose of this chapter is to present the data and analyse the findings in relation to the literature reviewed in chapter two.
To do this successfully the student should:
Ensure relevance by using the research questions as sub-headings, at least in the draft stage.
Present the data in a clear and coherent manner, using tables, graphs etc. as he/she sees fit.
Critically discuss the findings in relation to the literature in chapter two, identifying areas of agreement and disagreement, and give some thought as to why the results he/she obtained were so.
Identify any results that were puzzling or unexpected and consider why this was so.
Summarise the chapter and introduce the next chapter.

(Word count 25%)

Chapter Five-Conclusions and Discussion

The purpose of this chapter is to conclude the study by drawing together all the key points and to identify recommendations drawn from the research.

To do this successfully the student should:
Conclude the study effectively by drawing together all the main issues and presenting them in a coherent narrative.
Reflect upon the process of the research identifying what went well and what should have been done differently.
Identify the limitations of the study.
Identify any areas of further study highlighted during the research process.
Include any reflections on how the research has affected the author personally.
Summarise the whole of the study.

Topic: Small-Scale Qualitative Research Project—The Interview Guide

Application 2: Small-Scale Qualitative Research Project—The Interview Guide

Qualitative research questions are open-ended, and typically restate the purpose of a study in specific terms. These questions should start with \”what\” or \”how\” instead of \”why\”. While you are developing your Central qualitative research question, you might begin by considering what type of questions to ask. Keep in mind that your research question for this assignment should be one that can be answered, at least in part, by this interview. Questions that provoke a yes/no response are not permitted in a doctoral study interview guide.

For this Application:

Review this week\’s media resource regrading conducting interviews
Write your initial interview guide and post it for peer review by Day 3 under this week\’s Discussion \”Qualitative Research Question.\” Refer to the course readings to assist you to develop an appropriate interview guide.
Revise your interview guide as needed.
By Day 7 submit your completed final draft interview guide template to the Week 2 Application 2 submission area.

Submit your final interview guide to both the Submission link and Discussion board by Day 7.
