Describe your sort algorithm in pseudo code.

Data Structure in C programing using eclipse

the program has already been built. i need different implementation of the sorting algorithm, adding some functions to the program and answers to questions related to the implementation and the sorting algorithms.

i will upload the program once the agreement is done.

Part 1        Describe your sort algorithm in pseudo code.

Part 2        Answer the following questions (See below)

1.      Which sorting method did you choose?

2.      The sorts we discussed were selection, insertion, bubble, merge, quick, and shell.  In about a paragraph, discuss why the ones that you didn’t choose would have been less appropriate?

  1. How much slower would you expect bubble sort of 10,000 elements to be than merge sort?
  2. What is the fastest algorithm for finding the kthlargest element of N numbers?
  3. What is the primary disadvantage of Quick Sort? How could this disadvantage be eliminated?
  4. What is an advantage of bubble sort over selection sort? What is an advantage of selection sort over bubble sort?
  5. Why is a hybrid algorithm combining insertion sort with quick sort often faster than solely using quick sort?
  6. Describe how radix sort of integers can be implemented to require only twice memory, rather than ten times memory.
  7. State one or two problems that you can think of that are associated with sorting a linked list as compared with arrays?
  8. Give one or two advantages that the linked list implementation has over arrays.

Part 3        Implement the program. Turn in the lab, including files containing the typed answers to the part 1 questions, the pseudo-code.

Hints and Instructions

1) Implement your employee list program using a linked list instead of an array //(or binary tree in my case becuase i didnt implent unordered array as it required in the first lab) .  We will also add a sort option. Your menu will look something like the following:

Employee Maintenance

1) Add Employee

2) Remove Employee

3) Display Employee

4) Display Employee List

5) Reset List

6) Create Initial List

7) Sort Employee List

8) Help

9) Quit

Please Select:

2) The sort option will put the employee list in order of ascending item numbers.  Pick the sort that you think is most efficient for this project, but do not copy to an array and sort the array. The lab requirement is to sort the linked list directly, without using arrays.

What are External and Internal Environments?

Assignment 2: External and Internal Environments

Due Week 4 and worth 350 points

Choose an industry you have not yet written about in this course, and one publicly traded corporation within that industry. Research the company on its own Website, the public filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml), in the University’s online databases, and any other sources you can find. The annual report will often provide insights that can help address some of these questions.

Write an eight to ten (8-10) page paper in which you:

  1. Choose the two (2) segments of the general environment that would rank highest in their influence on the corporation you chose. Assess how these segments affect the corporation you chose and the industry in which it operates.
  2. Considering the five (5) forces of competition, choose the two (2) that you estimate are the most significant for the corporation you chose. Evaluate how well the company has addressed these two (2) forces in the recent past.
  3. With the same two (2) forces in mind, predict what the company might do to improve its ability to address these forces in the near future.
  4. Assess the external threats affecting this corporation and the opportunities available to the corporation. Give your opinions on how the corporation should deal with the most serious threat and the greatest opportunity. Justify your answer.
  5. Give your opinion on the corporation’s greatest strengths and most significant weaknesses.  Choose the strategy or tactic the corporation should select to take maximum advantage of its strengths, and the strategy or tactic the corporation should select to fix its most significant weakness. Justify your choices.
  6. Determine the company’s resources, capabilities, and core competencies.
  7. Analyze the company’s value chain to determine where they can create value using the resources, capabilities, and core competencies discussed above.
  8. Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.

Analyze some of the processes that the company has put in place to plan for sudden and drastic changes in demand.

Discussion—Process Selection and Resource Planning
The Bullwhip effect is often used to describe the magnification of demand variability due to distorted information through the supply chain. A classic example of this was during the “dotcom” bust of 2000 when demand variability for broadband equipment was magnified several fold as information was transmitted through the supply chain. The end result was that several companies were planning for unrealistic demand, and many companies shut down when this demand failed to materialize.
Using the Argosy University online library resources and valid Internet sites, research a company that is actively using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Resource Planning (MRP) systems to manage its processes, resources, and operations. You can choose a technology company that has survived the dotcom era or any other company that has lived through a very rapid change in demand forecasting such as what occurred as a result of the fiscal meltdown and the liquidity crisis in 2008.
Based on your research, respond to the following:
• Analyze some of the processes that the company has put in place to plan for sudden and drastic changes in demand.
• Evaluate the success of the initiatives and analyze the reason for the result.
• Based on the lessons learned, what else could the company do to plan for future disruptions?

Evaluate the ethical outcomes that result from the position you take on the issue and explain how those outcomes would influence society and culture.

The topic of your project needs to be a contemporary societal problem, such as healthcare reform, immigration reform, privacy rights, euthanasia, First Amendment Rights, stem cell research, capital punishment, corporate prisons, legalizing drugs, ageism, animal rights, cloning, prayer in schools, racial profiling, recycling/conservation, sexism, outsourcing jobs, workplace bullying, etc. The topic must focus on a single aspect, as in “How far do corporations intrude into the private lives of their employers?” or “The social costs of financing the distribution of custom-designed drugs.” You may suggest another topic to use, but the instructor must approve the topic during the Week Two Discussion.

The Final Research Project will present research relating the responsibilities of a critical thinker to contemporary society. In this assignment, you will do the following:

  • Research one aspect of a contemporary social problem.
  • Define the problem.
  • Propose a possible solution for the problem.
  • Create an argument that supports your thesis position. You should take on the perspective of a critically thinking researcher. The argument must present a thesis statement and evidence to support the thesis statement.
  • Evaluate the ethical outcomes that result from the position you take on the issue and explain how those outcomes would influence society and culture.
  • Interpret statistical data from at least two peer-reviewed scholarly sources.
  • Evaluate evidence using the following standards: validity, reliability, and bias related to the chosen topic and accurately identify strengths and weaknesses.

Research and Define the Problem

You must take on the perspective of your major field of study and explain in your paper what that perspective is and how it informs your view of the topic. The topics listed above are far too broad to write about in 10–12 pages (3,300–3,900 words). Instead, you must choose a narrowly defined thesis and approach it from the perspective of your field.

Example: If you are an economics major, and you are interested in immigration reform, you should approach a very specific aspect of immigration reform through the lens of economic theory and practice. A specific thesis question would not be, “How does illegal immigration influence the U.S. economy?” One could write thousands of pages on such a topic. Instead, a better question would be, “How do illegal immigrant hotel workers in Chicago impact the economy of Northern Illinois?” You would then want to do the research and determine the positive and negative impacts they have, ultimately trying to conclude how illegal immigration in this area should be approached ethically.

How to Hone Your Thesis: It is important that you start your research early in this course. Try to find the most important contemporary questions and theories in your field of study and then align the most important questions with a very specific aspect of the general topics above. For example, if you are a psychology major, you might want to start thinking within the realm of healthcare reform or aspects of mental health and criminality in the prison system.

Your Argument

You must present a complete argument, including a major claim with at least five points of evidence, information, or data that will prove the claim.

  • The thesis statement must be
    • A clear, simple declarative sentence as the first or last sentence in the opening paragraph of the essay.
    • Of such a nature that it can be substantiated, corroborated, verified, and proved through appeal to primary or secondary academic research source materials.
  • The introductory paragraph must
    • Present the thesis statement, an explanation for the importance of the topic, and its relation to the student’s field of study.
  • Beliefs, opinions, and personal opinions must not be introduced at any point in the essay.
  • All beliefs and opinions should be supported with academic evidence. Sweeping generalizations with no supporting academicevidence do not reflect adequate critical thinking skills.
  • Do not include rhetorical questions in your essays. All the questions that are pertinent to your project need to be answered in your essay and your answers again need to be supported with evidence from peer-reviewed journal articles and academically published books.

Attributes of Good Critical Thinking in Papers

  • Your paper should include academic sources that explain multiple sides of the issue.
  • The evidence that you use should come from high-level researchers engaged in your field of study.
  • Your interpretations of the evidence should be objective and state the conclusions and theses presented in the evidence clearly and fairly.
  • Your paper should place the various forms of evidence in relation to one another and demonstrate why one form or perspective is stronger than the other positions that one could take on the issue.
  • Your paper should point out the limitations of current evidence and attempt to indicate areas for future research.

Ethical Outcomes of the Position You Take

After you have defined the problem and created an argument about how one ought to respond to the issue, you need to explain the ethical outcomes of the position you have taken. This should again be in relation to the field of study in which you are working. There might be different ethical outcomes that result from your analysis. For example, going back to the example issue above, from an economic standpoint, illegal immigrants might contribute positively to the economy of Northern Illinois in a specific number of ways. Thus, an economist who believes that positive impact to the economy is the greatest good would say that one should promote the use of illegal immigrants. However, because these workers are often paid less than others and eliminate jobs that could be done by residents of Chicago, there could be other negative ethical outcomes that would outweigh the positive impacts to the economy. It is your goal to draw out the ethical implications of your thesis and explain the underlying rationale that is the foundation for your claim that one action is better than another.

  • Critical thinkers are those who can outline the positive and negative ethical impacts of their positions. In addition, they are able to provide a rationale for why they believe a specific position is the right position, even when it leads to negative outcomes.
  • Critical thinkers are also able to be honest and objective about the limitations and gray areas that pertain to their theses.

Final Research Project Requirements

The Final Research Project may be presented as a formal research paper (essay format), a PowerPoint presentation, a video, or a podcast equivalent to a minimum of 10 – 12 pages in APA format (approximately 3,300 – 3,900 typewritten words, excluding title page and reference pages). Written essays must adhere to all APA formatting standards and requirements, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

PowerPoint presentations must include the full text (at least 3,300 words) in the speaker notes portion of the slides, with appropriate citations, and full reference pages. PowerPoint presentations must adhere to the basic principles of PowerPoint presentation design and must include citations and references according to APA standards and requirements.

Videos and podcasts must include a full transcript, in APA format, including appropriate in-text citations and a references page.

Quotations:

There must be no more than 15% quoted content in the body of your essay. All quoted material must bear quotation marks and a full quotation citation.

Source Documents:

  • There must be 10 or more source documents used, cited, and referenced.
  • Multimedia sources (such as videos) may be used, but no more than two such sources may be used. If multimedia sources are used, then they must be authored and distributed by credible sources, such as universities, law schools, medical schools, or professors, or found in the Ashford University Library.
  • Where print documents are used for source materials, those must be peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles, and academically published books. Popular media sources (e.g., newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows, etc.) may not be used. Materials from advocacy groups (e.g., Greenpeace, Human Rights Campaign, National Organization for Women, etc.) may not be used.
  • Two of the peer-reviewed scholarly sources used must include statistical evidence, which must be accurately interpreted.
  • Sites such as ProCon.org and Wikipedia should not be used.
  • Religious texts are neither peer-reviewed nor scholarly and so may not be used in any way.

Summary Conclusion:

You must have a summary conclusion as the last paragraph(s) of the project, presenting the major point of the essay and the evidence supporting that point.

Word Count:

The content body of the project must be 3,300 words or more. The word count does not include anything in the title page, running header, or reference list. It is expected that you meet all logistical requirements of this paper.

Reference List:

  • The list of references must include only those source documents that are cited within the body of the project.
  • The project must fully comply with APA formatting standards and requirements as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center: title page, running header with page numbers, font face and size, line spacing, citations, and reference page(s).

Explain the role of electronic health records in in implementing quality as described in the article.

HMGT 320 Week #2 Response. Need a response to each post (Discussion). There are 4 post total. I have also attached my origanal post that requires a reponse back to my instructor. My original post will be last, with the question my teacher proposed. The postings that require my peer response are listed first.. These post are very lengthy, I apologize. You may put your response on a different sheet of paper but please ensure you put the “name” of the person’s discussions you are responding to. Just give one general overall response, not a response to each article. A response should be about 5-10 sentences. Don’t over do it.

1. Article 1…. Quality Chasm
a. Explain the role of electronic health records in in implementing quality as described in the article.
Electronic Health Records provide an opportunity for ease of access for medical history of a patient. The electronic medical record can saved and available via online, allowing instant access to medical professional during times of immediate need. Also, the medical record can be reviewed and updated by the owner (patient), allowing additional information to be entered which might not be normally be entered by an examining official or PCP.
Adopting electronic health records can also lead to a savings in care costs and reduce medical errors.

2. Article 2…Intro to Quality Improvement Methods.
a. Explain the Deming PDSA model
The Deming PDSA model is a multistep process which consists of stages for: planning, doing, studying, and acting in relation to quality improvement methods. The never-ending cycle works to continuously modify any processes completed based on results to guarantee the goals are met.

b. As a Healthcare Administrator, provide an example (from experience or research) as to how this model can be implemented in your facility. Illustrate use of the four steps in your example.
Implementing the Deming PDSA model as a Healthcare Administrator would involve identify each step and how it would relate to the overall chosen goal. For example if the goal was patient weight reduction the following steps might be outlined:
Plan – (identify the goal) – the patient will lose 25 lbs over 6 months, through healthy eating choices and moderate exercise.
Do – (the process) – the patient will reduce calorie intake to 2500 a day, with reduced sugar intake, and a goal of 45 minutes of exercise 3 times a week.
Study – (monitor for results) – the food intake and exercise will be monitored for compliance to the goals and plan set. A weigh-in will be completed ever 2 weeks of the patient, with a food and exercise diary review weekly.
Act – (review of results, learning period) – review results and learning from outcomes, adjusting process if needed to meet the goal originally set.
3.Article 3…. Total Quality Management

1. Article 1…. Quality Chasm
a. Implementing electronic health records will allow patients’ needs to be met quicker than with paper records and at a lower cost. Electronic health records help to improve the quality of care patients receive. Errors can be reduced and information can be shared more easily among other healthcare providers.

2. Article 2…Intro to Quality Improvement Methods.
a. The Deming PDSA model is a systematic series of steps. The purpose of the model is to gain valuable knowledge for continual improvement of a process. The model begins with the “Plan Step” which involves identifying a goal and putting a plan into action. The next step is the “Do Step”, this is where the plan is put into play. Next in the model is the “Study Step”, this is when outcomes are monitored to evaluate the plan for progress, success, or problems. The “Act Step” is the last step in the PDSA model. During this finally step all that has been learned from the model is evaluated and any adjustments to the goal are made. All steps are repeated to ensure continual improvement.
b. “Plan Step”: The goal is to get patients to schedule their next dental cleaning at the time of their visit. “Do Step”: When patients come in for their cleaning suggest that they schedule their next appointment before they leave the office because the schedule usually books up 3 months in advance. “Study Step”: Some patients are scheduling their next appointment but many are asking for an email to be sent closer to when they are due to schedule their next appointment “Act Step”: Only half of the patients are scheduling their next appointments while they are in the office. The other half wishes to receive an email when they need to schedule. With this valuable information we can now ask s to schedule so they will be on the schedule and let them know that they will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before their appointment to confirm whether or not it still works for them. This way more patients will schedule while in the office.

1. Article 1…. Quality Chasm
a. Explain the role of electronic health records in in implementing quality as described in the article.
Electronic health records have recently become a more effective way of keeping health records. Not only is it more secure, but it also ensures patients can receive team based care. Sharing information between providers has become easier with the implementation of the electronic health record.
2. Article 2…Intro to Quality Improvement Methods.
a. Explain the Deming PDSA model
The Deming PDSA model is a 4 step process that is a guideline for a researcher. The steps are planning it, trying it, observing, then acting on what is learned.
b. As a Healthcare Administrator, provide an example (from experience or research) as to how this model can be implemented in your facility. Illustrate use of the four steps in your example.
As a Healthcare Administrator I would plan what needed to be done. I would start by making a goal as well as a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this goal. Then I would implement it slowly, using the steps. Once I have completed all the required steps and achieved my goal I would look back and see what I could’ve done to make the process easier or have it be done faster. In the end, I would learn from this and then make the required changes for the next time.
3.Article 3…. Total Quality Management
a. Define TQM as it relates to healthcare organizations.
Total Quality Management (TQM) is ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. In the past it was quality assurance. It focuses in on patient satisfaction, continuous improvements, teamwork, process management, systematization, organization structure, and commitment for management & leadership.
b. As listed in the article, give an example (experience or research) how TQM has been used to obtain ONE of these outcomes listed in the article.
-improved healthcare quality and performance
-patient satisfaction
-reduced operating costs
-employee satisfaction
-patient safety
Patient Satisfaction can be evaluated with surveys. Once a provider or organization knows that there is an issue, then they can fix it. Also, if they know everything is going smoothly, then they know not to change it.

Quality Chasm
I agree that electronic health records are effective in transforming the quality, safety and efficiency of services offered by health care organizations that have successfully implemented it. They keep records of medications of patients and check problems when a new medication is prescribed. Electronic Health Records detect potential operational problems enabling health providers to identify and correct them quickly and in a systematic way. This will avoid more serious problems thus, lead to the better patient outcome.

Deming PIDSA model
The plan-do-study-act cycle is a model with four systematic steps that is used for carrying out change. It is used when implementing any change, for continuous improvement, when defining a repetitive work progress and when planning, collecting and analyzing data to verify problems.
I can use this model in my facility. For instance, when I want to implement best practices that will prevent pressure ulcers. Firstly, I would plan, whereby, I would identify a goal, develop an appropriate theory and then put the plan into action. The Do step will then follow, where I will make any product that needs to be made for the change to be a success. The Study step is next: here, I will look into the outcomes and test if the plan is valid to check the signs of progress, the problems that should be corrected or what should be improved. The Act step will finally close the cycle: I will try to integrate what I have learnt during the entire process and find out what can be used to adjust the goal or change the procedures.

Total Quality Management
Total Quality Management (TQM), is a management approach used to improve quality and productivity in business organizations through customer satisfaction. It states that there is a necessity for constant effort from each in an organization to achieve excellence. In health care organizations, end health results and patient satisfaction is what measures excellence.
Studies by researchers show that the best way to improve health care services and ensure patient satisfaction is by implementing TQM strategies. According to numerous research conducted to look for the relationship between TQM and health sector, it is revealed that TQM leads to better relations between health care providers and patients hence, patient satisfaction. One of the behavior that ensures patient’s satisfaction is doctor’s care. Patient’s satisfaction is determined by how the doctor interacts with the patient and their sensitivity to the patient’s personal experience. I believe that the amount of time that a physician spends with a patient, how and how much information is passed to a patient by a doctor are the most important dynamic attributes toward ensuring patient satisfaction.

Deidra,
Article 1…..You mentioned medication ordering within the EHR…this relates to e-prescribe. Deidra, class can anyone address and define e-prescribe, and how this relates to meaningful use standards.
Article 2…..Good overview for PDSA as realtes to pressure ulcers. Again with any quality improvement process, one of the keys is measurement…..before the process 30% of our long term care patients had pressure ulcers. Following the process improvement, 10%.
Article 3….Key is to define how TQM improves patient satisfaction. What is the current interaction/process used for doctors to communicate to patients, and what is the survey score? How will we examine the process/how what changes will we make as result of implementing TQM. Have scores improved as a result?

Review the following scenario:

Acting as the CEO of a small company, you will apply the principles of capital budgeting to invest in growth and cash flow improvement opportunities in three phases over 10 simulated years. Each opportunity has a unique financial profile and you must analyze the effects on working capital. Examples of opportunities include taking on new customers, capitalizing on supplier discounts, and reducing inventory.

You must understand how the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows are interconnected and be able to analyze forecasted financial information to consider possible effects of each opportunity on the firm’s financial position. The company operates on thin margins with a constrained cash position and limited available credit. You must optimize use of internal and external credit as you balance the desire for growth with the need for maintaining liquidity.

Sign-in to the simulation and review each of the following:

  • Welcome Statement
  • How to Play
  • Terminology Primer
  • More Details (this includes information to help you understand how to play the simulation)

Write a paper of no more than 1,400 words that analyzes your decisions during each phase (1-3) and how they influenced each of the following final outcomes (metrics) of SNC:

  • Sales
  • EBIT
  • Net Income
  • Free Cash Flow
  • Total Firm Value

Address the following in your paper:

  • A summary of your decisions and why you made them
  • How they affected SNC’s working capital
  • What general effects are associated with limited access to financing

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Describe Harley-Davidson’s brand, including its target market, how the brands differ, business units, and its place in the overall portfolio of H-D.

Business Unit Analysis

Directions: Create a Feasibility Study for Harley-Davidson using the following outline:

Part I: Differentiation Strategies

The analysis of current strategy and competitor analysis you conducted last module impressed the senior vice president. She now needs you to delve into the brands and analyze them by conducting a business unit analysis and presenting your findings in a three-part PowerPoint presentation.

Research the Harley-Davidson (H-D) Web site for each brand, and review the annual report for relevant details of the size, scope, target market, services and amenities, and other salient points of differentiation. Include these details in Part I of your PowerPoint presentation.

From the research and analysis of the business units, identify:

    • A description of each brand that provides a clear picture of the brand and its place in the overall portfolio of Harley-Davidson.

    • The target market of each brand.

    • How the brands are alike and how they differ.

    • A preliminary analysis of any gaps that exist in the portfolio that might lead to opportunities to add to the brands.

  • Your analysis of possible merger/acquisition/joint venture possibilities and what would be achieved or accomplished through the merger/acquisition/joint venture.

Part II: SWOT Analysis

Perform a SWOT analysis for Harley-Davidson and include this information in Part II of your PowerPoint presentation.

  • Based on the internal analyses of the SWOT analysis, assess the functional areas, resources, capabilities, and strengths H-D possesses. Please be sure to cover the following functional areas in your assessment:
      • Marketing: New product development, integrated marketing planning, marketing communications, and building customer loyalty.
      • Operations: Quality, service, and consistent execution.
      • Human Resources: Hiring, training, developing talent, and performance planning. Avoided lawsuits and bad PR due to its hiring practices. Is ethical in its HR practices.
      • Executive Leadership: Industry knowledge and experience, vision about where the industry is heading, and strategy execution.
      • Supply Chain Optimization: Strategic sourcing of input, vendor management, integrated IS, and joint forecasting with suppliers.
      • Corporate Responsibility and Ethics: Concern for corporate citizenship and the environment. Present any potential ethical concerns as well.
    • Safety and Quality: How the motorcycle industry is dealing with safety and quality issues.

Part III: Growth and Profitability Strategies

In addition, the executive board is interested in your ideas about bold strategies for the future. The strategies you recommend will have to contribute to growth and profitability, as outlined in the Annual Report.

You will want to pay special attention to exploring vertical integration, strategic alliances, and the internal growth of new brands entering new geographic markets, and/or additional acquisitions.

Consider the following:

    • Is Harley-Davidson, Inc., (H-D) competing in the right businesses, given the opportunities and threats present in the external environment? If not, how can H-D realign its diversification strategy to achieve a competitive advantage?

This may include additional diversification to take advantage of opportunities such as further vertical integration.

  • Is the corporation managing its portfolio in a way that creates synergy among its businesses? If so, what additional businesses should it consider adding to its portfolio?

After you have reviewed the growth and profitability strategies, create a list of possible strategies to present a full range of ideas.

Part III of your presentation should include your complete list—all potential ideas—for the senior vice president. This is your chance to be creative.

Next, rank your ideas from best to worst. To do this, keep in mind several things such as fit with current strategy, resources and capabilities, and difficulty of execution.

For each of your top five ideas, add the following:

    • Briefly describe the strategy.

  • Why you picked it as one of the top five.

Think about such things as:

  • Does the strategy build on current competencies and foster horizontal relationships among brands? In other words, what can be leveraged or shared? What are the pros and cons of this strategy?

Your PowerPoint Feasibility Study presentation will also include slides pertaining to the following assessments:

    • Part I: Identification of size, scope, target market, services, amenities, and points of differentiation.

    • Part II: SWOT analysis that includes marketing, operations, human resources, executive leadership, supply chain optimization, corporate responsibility, ethics, safety, and quality.

  • Part III: Growth and profitability strategies, including your top five strategic ideas and support.

Submit the PowerPoint Feasibility Study presentation to the senior vice president so that she can review the alternatives and provide you with feedback about your ideas.
