Topic: 4MAT Book Review: The Great Commission to Worship by

Review the Book entitled \”The Great Commission to Worship\” by Whaley, Vernon and David Wheeler. Nashville, TN: B and H Publishing Group, 2011. ISBN: 9781943965366.

4MAT Book Review Instructions

Please use the following format in preparing 4-MAT Book Reviews:

1. Abstract. Summarize what you have read, boiling the book down into 300 words (1 page). Prove you comprehend the readings by writing a no-nonsense summary. The abstract is not a commentary or listing of topics but rather an objective summary from the reader\’s viewpoint. Abstract equals “boiled down.” This section should include a minimum of 2 footnotes to the text being reviewed.

2. Concrete Response. Get vulnerable! In no less than 150 words and no more than 1 page, relate a personal life experience that this book triggered in your memory. Relate your story in first person, describing action, and quoting exact words you remember hearing or saying. In the teaching style of Jesus, this is a do-it-yourself parable, case study, confession. You will remember almost nothing you have read unless you make this critical, personal connection. What video memory began to roll? This is your chance to tell your story and make new ideas your own.

3. Reflection. This is the critical thinking part of the review (not critical in the sense of negative, but in the sense of questioning). In no less than 150 words and no more than 1 page, describe what questions pop up for you in response to what you have read. Keep a rough-note sheet at hand as you read. Out smart the author by asking better questions than he/she raised in the book. Tell how the author could have made the book better or more appealing to those in your field of service. One way to begin this section is by stating what bothered you most about the book. This is not a place to provide an endorsement or affirmation of the book.

4. Action. So what are you going to do about it? In no less than 2–3 page and no more than 7 pages for your entire paper.provide 3 action steps that describe what actions or changes you are going to make in your life, ministry, and/or work as a result of your reading. Action steps should be measurable and reveal a commitment to specific time, specific people, and identified steps.

Make sure the action steps are implemented between the time the review are submitted inModule/Week 7. Discussion Board activity asks for you to reveal the results of 1 of your actions.

5. Please provide a Turabian style* title page, pagination, footnotes, and Bibliography.

Please use the previous material you used for this paper. I have attached it for to help remind you.The paper is based on an environmental case American Lake Gardens/Mcchord Afb 555 BARNES BLVD. It is a closed case. The site involved was a dumping ground for the military. Describe the problem. Tell your reader why you have decided to address problem-solving at the local, state, regional, national or international level. Introduce the political institutions, organizations, and movements you will discuss. In the body of the paper, discuss the following: Who is affected by the environmental problem? How? What are the economic concerns considered in the process of deciding how to address the environmental problem? What kinds of conflicts are involved in interpreting and trying to solve the problem? What approaches have been proposed to solve the problem, if any? What approaches have been tried to solve the problem, if any? What has been accomplished by specific political institutions, organizations, and movements trying to solve the problem? Whose interests have been protected during the process of trying to solve the problem? Whose interests have not? If policies have been made to address the problem, your evaluation and explanation should be based in part on the policy process model. (See Kraft’s chapter 3.) Consider: Who has been involved in assessing risks associated with the environmental problem? Who is left out of the process? What are the economic concerns taken into consideration in deciding the risks, benefits, or efficiency of regulatory policies that might be used to solve the environmental problem? What are the economic concerns taken into consideration in deciding the risks, benefits or efficiency of distributive or re-distributive policies that might be used to solve the environmental problem? What kinds of conflicts have been involved in setting agendas? Regarding the process of agenda setting: Who is in favor of what? Who is opposed to what? What reasons are given to justify their positions? Which actors have had enough power to direct agenda setting? How do the parties influence public opinion during the process of agenda setting? What kinds of conflicts have been involved in formulating policies? Throughout the process of policy formulation: Who is in favor of what? Who opposes what? What reasons are given to justify their positions? Which actors have had enough power to direct policy formulation? How do the parties influence public opinion during the process of policy formulation? Who are the actors involved in implementing policy? How do the parties influence public opinion during policy implementation? Who are the actors involved in evaluating policy? How do the parties influence public opinion during policy evaluation? How have policies changed throughout the course of problem-solving? When policies have not helped to solve the problem, what has happened next? In your conclusion: Provide a brief summary of how the problem has been addressed. Tell your reader to what extent the problem has been solved and what more you believe must be done to solve it. Summarize how relations of power are influencing problem-solving in your case. Your reference list is a correctly-formatted list of the sources you cite in your paper

In the final phase of the Database Design Proposal assignment, you are required to design a working prototype of the proposal. You will be required to utilize SQLite Database. The SQLite database is a small, lightweight database application, suited for learning SQL and database concepts, or to just explore some database-related ideas without requiring a full-blown database management system (DBMS). Refer to \”Supplement: SQL Examples for SQLite Database,\” for the link to the SQLite Database download and examples.

The working prototype should include the following:

1) Provide a brief synopsis (utilizing research from related assignments) analyzing the detailed requirements of your prototype database design.

2) Design a database prototype that includes diagrams, data dictionary, design decisions, limitations, etc. The database should consist of at least four tables, two different user roles, and two reports.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

Topic: online catalogues analysis

Formatting instructions The length of the paper should not be more than 1,000 words (excluding the data, their translation into English, the references and any appendices). You NEED to write clearly. If I cannot understand, I cannot give you marks for the work. You also need to provide reasons for your claims. Don\’t just give an example, explain it.
Honesty instructions I should not need to specify, but any indication of copying will result in a 0% for the assignment.
General Instructions Find two online store catalogues (in PDF or other e-format – you can simply take screen captures for your examples if necessary). These should be from stores in a region that you know well (either Doha, the Gulf region or from another city/country that you are familiar with). The catalogues can be in Arabic or English. However, if they are in Arabic, all of your examples will need to be translated into English. Make sure to find catalogues that are sufficiently large to give you enough data to do your analysis. You can, if necessary, find multiple catalogues from similar stores if you need more data. Of course, you should look for catalogues that have more than just pictures and prices, but also a sufficient amount of accompanying text.
One of the stores should be a lower end store (targeting a person of average or lower income); one should be a higher end store (targeting those with higher incomes; e.g., East 51).
In each catalogue, find items that are probably marketed for women, and another set probably marketed at men (find as many such items as you need to answer the questions below, but at least 6 items for each gender).

Questions:
I (75%) Qualitative questions: 1) For these items, in what ways does the language in the advertising reflect the target audience (women vs. men)? And what ideologies does this reflect? Find 10 examples (total across all your example items) of paradigmatic choices that reflect a cultural assumption (hegemonic ideology) about gender and explain the specific hegemonic ideology behind the choice. Give an alternative choice that could have been made and explain how the choice that was made reflects the ideology.
2) In what ways do the non-linguistic choices (pictures, colours…) reflect the target audience (women vs. men)? And what ideologies does this reflect? (Give specific examples and explain them – at least 3 examples).
3) Compare the catalogue from the expensive store with that from the cheaper store: Which choices (linguistic or non-linguistic) show the status of the store? Find 4 examples of a choice (linguistic or non-linguistic) that reflects a dominant ideology about wealth (For example, the activities that are suggested by the product for sale).
4) Find one example of an assumption that shows interaction between ideologies of status and gender; that is, an example of a choice that reflects an ideology about rich women (but not men or poor women) or about poor men (but not women or rich men) or about poor women….
5) Binomial order – find at least two examples of a binomial (your pdf viewer\’s search function will help you with this), does the male or female come first? Why is that order used in these examples?

II (10%) Quantitative:
A professional analysis would require more advanced statistical techniques, but as an introductory analysis, please do a quantitative (“counting”) analysis of the following questions.
1) Predict a pair of words that you think would be more likely to occur in the high-end/low-end catalogues. For example, luxurious/value. The word “luxurious” is probably more likely to occur in a catalogue aimed at the rich, whereas “value” is more likely to occur in a catalogue aimed at those earning less money. (DON\’T USE THAT PAIR – FIND ANOTHER PAIR) Test your prediction in your catalogues: Count the number of instances of the words you predicted in each of the catalogues (the “search” function in your pdf viewer will allow you to do this) and compare the ratio of those words in the two catalogues. Was your prediction correct? If so, why do you think it was correct? If not, why do you think it was not correct?
