Option 1
Write an essay that addresses the ways in which the Benefactor is worshipped by the citizens of society, and how such worship is contradictory to their belief system about equality.
Essay #1 Rough draft (3 copies) due in class Thursday 2/18 — draft must be at least 3 full pages. Incomplete draft or not showing up with a draft will result in an F on th essay -100 points.

Quoting
Its expected that you have a quote in every single body paragraph of your essay.
Never start a paragraph with a quote.
When using quotes, introduce it first.
Contextualize your quote. Tell where in the text the quote takes place. Who said it (if its dialogue) use MLA citations for every line quoted. Discuss quotes in two or three lines in your words.

Title of essay should include title of the book.
Introduction should not have hooks or grabbers.
Things the intro needs. Title of book, small summery of the book, author, and a thesis.
Blue comments on sample essay are comments for the author. Purple comments are made for anyone studying the sample.
Any ideas paraphrased should be cited.
Block quotes are something you have to use if you quote four lines or more. Do not use quotation marks for these. Citation goes after the period. Indent 5 spaces each tab.
