Just like Lolita, childhood experiences are major aspects that can lead to become the person you are later in life. Through the narrative of Victor Frankenstein, we learn several major characters and events throughout his childhood that has so far lead up to his creation at Ingolstadt. Alphonse and Caroline were the first to be introduced as they fell in love and got married after Caroline’s father died. Alphonse became a protector over Caroline and gave her full respect and love which lead them to a healthy and happy life, especially when raising Victor, “There was a sense of justice in my father’s upright mind, which rendered it necessary that he should approve highly to love strongly” (pg. 15). Elizabeth Lavenza was later brought up because Caroline came across her as an orphan in Italy and decided to adopt her into their family, “Harmony was the soul of our companionship, and the diversity and contrast that subsisted in our characters drew us nearer together” (pg. 18). Being almost the same age, Caroline strongly urged Victor to marry her someday, but as for their childhood, their friendship was mutually strong. Along with other friendships, Henry Cleval was Victor’s schoolmate, similar to Elizabeth also gave him a happy childhood. In his teenage years, Victor became interested in the sciences and philosophy. He read books by Cornelius Agrippa, Paracelsus, and Albertus Magnus. The spark of his passion occurred on a stormy night when he watched a beam of lightening hit an oak tree “As I stood at the door, on a sudden I beheld a stream of fire issue from an old and beautiful oak, which stood about twenty yards from our house; and as soon as the dazzling light vanished, the oak had disappeared, and nothing remained but a blasted stump” (pg. 22). From there on out, Victor attended college and studied sciences particularly chemistry and the creation of life. Being brought up in such a wealthy family who loved each other and did everything possible for their children not only allowed Victor to pursue his dreams as a scientist, but open a whole new world for him to discover.

Personality Profile Papers

. Apply these theories to your own personality! The study of personality can seem extremely abstract. Each theorist proposes different ways of measuring or documenting individual differences and  processes. The purpose of this short paper is to give you hands-on experience with the concrete elements of various perspectives, so you can see and feel what each theorist is talking about.. You will be introduced to concepts, vocabulary and measures of personality for each perspective we study. Practice using these ideas and words to see how they apply to YOU. Each time you do an assessment, you should note for yourself what the results mean regarding your personality.  The summaries will be useful in describing your personality from the perspective of theorists and trait theorists. NOTE: If you feel this is too personal an assignment, you may choose to write your personality profile on some famous person whose personality traits and functioning are known to the public. Please clear your choice with the instructor if you choose this alternate assignment.. In 4 to 5 pages, you will apply three different theories. You will only be able to cover selective elements of what you have learned about personality, so pick a few ideas to focus on from each of three perspectives. Topics you may choose to address in the papers are found throughout the syllabus and in each chapter of the text. In the end, you should describe your subject (yourself) through the eyes of at least three  theories (theories covered in Chapters 1 through 6) for this assignment.Use whichever theories seem applicable, pertinent, or appropriate within the broad school of thought. Review the terminology and “Personal Experiences” sections at the end of each chapter to identify some of the concepts you may apply to your own personality. Some examples are given below.. Keep running notes each week about how your personality fits into each theory. Begin the paper or PPT with a BRIEF general introduction to the individual (you), then move smoothly into the first perspective you wish to take. Say which theory is being applied, and use the concepts from that theory, but do not waste time explaining the theory itself. Just put it to use describing yourself.Use transition sentences to move from one theory to the next, making contrasts and comparisons between the various interpretations of your personality when possible. The paper should read smoothly from beginning to end, not as a series of disconnected one-paragraph essays. Type the paper with 1” margins, double spaced in a 12-point font, submitted as a Word document. Each paper should run about four to five pages or 12 to 15 PPT slides. The paper or  assessment is well done when it:•clearly conveys a strong sense of the individual’s personality•applies at least three different theories of personality, from 3 or more correctly identified theorists.•uses assessments or application of terminology from each theory to explain personal characteristics•is clearly written, with correct sentence structure, paragraph form, spelling, grammar and punctuation.Examples – Here are some ideas, but you are by no means limited to these topics. Please choose the ideas from each theorists which are most applicable to your experience.1. Freud – defense mechanisms, dream analysis, Oedipal conflicts, slips of the tongue (), character type, transference in a relationship2. Jung – favored personality functions, development of individuation, archetypes, balance of opposites, mystical dreams3. Adler – birth order, social interest, evidence of striving for superiority, compensation4.  – basic anxiety driving perfectionism5. Fromm – social motivations and character type6. Sullivan – needs for security and close relationships7. Erikson – What dynamics are operating at this stage of life? How do biological imperatives and social demands interact to drive your psychological growth? How is  expressed in your life?. This assignment is worth 50 points. Papers and presentations will be graded on clear presentation and analysis, accurate reference to each theory used, correct use of terms and constructs, and good college-level writing, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and neatness. Late papers may be accepted for reduced credit, with permission in advance from the instructor.

FOR PHYLLIS YOUNG

(So all papers are leading into one large assignment. It’s all about choosing ONE leadership priority to address throughout all papers, in which you touched on in the first paper.)Literature Review and Annotated BibliographyFor this assignment, you will begin to research journal articles, Web resources, and other tools that address your chosen priorities. (which should be part of what you chose to write about in the first paper)Peruse professional organization and government Web sites for ideas, themes, and current information relating to systems, organizational, and nursing leadership with which to address your issues of priority for the course project. Links to organizations with information related to course topics are provided in the Resources for this assignment. To complete this assignment:    Assemble an APA-formatted annotated bibliography, which includes sources from 3–6 assigned readings from the course room as well as a minimum of 3–6 additional outside sources from peer-reviewed journals or professional organization or association Web sites.(Assigned Readings)The literature review helps place your research in the context of what has already been done in the field. The literature review is a component of most scholarly writing. Dissertations include a chapter-long literature review, and research articles will include a literature review near the beginning of the article. Sometimes an entire article will be devoted to reviewing the literature.Resources for your Literature ReviewThe literature review focuses on primary, peer-reviewed resources. Often starting with the seminal literature of the field, it mostly consists of research articles on the topic. Secondary sources are used sparingly, if at all.In order to write a comprehensive literature review, you must search in multiple databases. No single source will have all of the primary resources you should consult. A comprehensive literature review should include searches in the following:    Multiple journal databases    Book databases    Dissertations    Sources outside the library

Religion bonus question. I need 2-3 page reflection paper.

please read the following article, located here: Reparations” In this now famous and celebrated article, Ta-Nahisi Coats makes it apparent that racism is not simply a personal matter, but has in America a systematic and institutionalized from and effect. In other words, there is what we can refer to as “systematic racism”—a racism built into American economics and politics that still has negative effects on Black and Immigrant communities. This is seen most clearly if one studies the concentration of poor ethnic groups into certain communities, the underfunding of intercity schools, the war on drugs (which has largely targeted poor black communities) police brutality, and most significantly, the 1994 crime bill and the three strikes law which strengthened and privatized the prison industrial complex. (For more on this, and to see how are these things work together systematically, I encourage you to look into Michele Alexander’s ). Systematic racism, then, means that racist policies and practices still exist even if certain individuals instilling those policies or working within these systems are not racist themselves. When we think we are not a part of racist practices because we ourselves are not racist, it becomes easy to judge and condemn certain practices of oppressed communities. In other words, it is precisely when we think that we have moved ‘beyond race’ that racism becomes the most brutal, for it allows people—privileged white males especially—to imagine that we have somehow extracted ourselves or are no longer implicated in the sins of the past, and the present. For instance, I am still reaping the benefits of my Grandfathers life—after the war, he bought a home with the GI bill, got a good Union job, was able to buy a house in a good neighborhood with good schools—all things from which Black people were systematically excluded from. And just as I am still benefitting from my grandfathers inclusion in these systems, so too are many Black people still suffering from their exclusion. After reading “The Case for Reparations” prepare a 2-3 page reflection paper. In your papers, please assume that the your reader (me) has read the article, in other words, don’t spend a lot of time re-capping the article itself. Rather, spend your time to reflect on what feelings and thoughts the article raised within you and let the content of the article come out through your own reflection.

healthcare paper

You will write a public health issue brief that addresses a current health issue of public health importance. You will build this brief throughout the semester. The final brief will include an introduction that makes a case for why the topic is important and a literature review of recent current events, mass media stories and peer-reviewed articles that focus on the various determinants of health and/or ecological levels related to the health issue. You will conclude the brief by summarizing what is known about the topic based on your review. The introduction should take the form of a clear argument that identifies who will be able to use the findings from your public health issue brief and how. This section should include citations to evidence to support your argument. The introduction should also include a clear statement of purpose that identifies the specific area of literature that will be reviewed in your brief. Evidence cited in the introduction itself can come from a variety of credible sources; you do not need to restrict yourself to just peer-reviewed journal articles. The literature review should contain the most relevant sources based on the stated purpose of the brief. You must use a minimum of 8 credible sources. Three of the sources must come from peer-reviewed journals; the remaining sources may include current new articles, mass media stories and credible websites (and not exclusively websites). You should create conceptual subtopics within your review by clustering together information that addresses similar concepts. Please use headings to organize your paper into subtopics. One idea for organizing your review is to use the various determinants of health and/or ecological levels related to the health issue. Make sure to focus on the actual findings that are most relevant to your topic, and include basic information about the article that will help your reader understand the nature of the evidence being reported. Avoid summarizing other portions of the article, such as the authors’ introduction, literature review, or discussion section. Your task is to extract relevant data and information from the sources, organize it, and make meaning of it in your own, unique way based on the specific purpose you have for reviewing the literature. The brief should end with a conclusion that summarizes the major findings of your brief. An effective summary will concisely recap for the reader what is known about the topic. Your brief should be no more than 6-8 pages long, excluding the cover sheet and references page. Please do not exceed the page limit. Use one-inch margins, 12-point font, and double space your text. Upload your assignment through Canvas as a Word attachment. Please review the rubric below to see how I will assess your brief: Criteria Points Possible Introduction makes a focused and clear argument about who can use the findings from the public health issue brief and how with citations to evidence to support the argument. The writing is compelling and makes the reader care about the topic. 5 Introduction includes a statement of purpose that identifies the specific area of literature that will be reviewed. 3 Literature review contains at least 8 credible sources; 3 of those studies come from peer-reviewed journals. Sources selected for the review are clearly related to the stated purpose of the brief. 12 Literature review is conceptually organized into subtopics that cluster together information that addresses similar concepts. Subtopics are clearly identified with the use of headings. 6 Review highlights actual findings that are most relevant to the topic, and include basic information about the issue. The reader understands the nature of the evidence being reported. The review presents relevant data and information. The author has made meaning of it in his/her own, unique way based on the specific purpose for their public health issue brief. 10 The brief ends with a conclusion that summarizes the major findings of the brief. Summary concisely recaps what is known about the topic. 4 The entire brief is well organized and written (clear, concise, minimal use of passive voice, free of typos, spelling, punctuation, and other grammatical errors). 8 APA citation method is used for all sources. Formatting of citations and references page are correct. 2 TOTAL 50

You and your partner are a two-person patrol in a rural district of Kansas for a county sheriff’s office. Your area of responsibility is right in the middle of “Tornado Alley.” Two weeks ago, a category 4 tornado touched down at the north end of a town in your jurisdiction and hit a day care. Twenty-two children were in the day care with five care providers. Most of the children were huddled with four of the providers at one end of the structure, where there was little damage. Five of the children, who took shelter with one of the care providers in the other end of the building, were pulled out of the building by the tornado. Four of the children and the caretaker that had been with them were found on a nearby street, all dead from blunt trauma. The fifth child has not been found. The ages of the children are 3–5 years old. Your partner is a young man with a wife of five years. They have two children, ages 3 and 4. When the children’s bodies were found, he started to cry. He did his job the entire time with tears in his eyes. You and your partner searched for almost 36 hours without sleep for the missing child, to no avail. Since this incident, your partner has all but stopped speaking. He misses radio calls and is no longer the observant partner that you had prior to the incident with the tornado strike. You thought it would be just a day or two until he recovered, but he has not rebounded, and it is going on the third week. You have concern for his and your safety as well as the safety of the public. You spoke to him about it, and he told you to mind your own business. The sergeant came to you and asked about your partner because he noticed the symptoms. The sergeant related that he had spoken to the watch commander and was instructed to have you prepare a report of observations, an assessment of the problem, and recommendations for getting the problem solved. In a report of 3–5 pages to the watch commander of the sheriff’s department patrol bureau, explain your concerns about the behavior of your partner. Identify that your relationship prior to 3 weeks ago was excellent. Explain how you believe this is incident driven and why. Determine at least 2 possible disorders that may be impacting your partner. Provide the watch commander with 2 alternatives in terms of getting your partner back on track.   Address the following as a group in 3–4 pages:

Benchmark Counselor Ethical Boundaries

Follow the directions below to write a paper of 1,500-1,750 words on counselor ethical boundaries and practices. For this paper, write from the perspective that you are a professional counselor in the field. Provide a thoughtful response to each of the following three sections, including specific, concrete examples to illustrate your ideas. Use the section headings provided below to separate each section of your paper.Your final deliverable should be one cohesive paper addressing all three sections along with an introduction and conclusion.Present examples of how you would apply this criteria to at least four counseling situations in which you believe the dual relationship issues are complex and ambiguous. One of your examples should address the issues of physical attraction between clients and counselors. In addition, examine these issues in terms of former clients. Address the following:Explain why counselors frequently collaborate with other stakeholders regarding a client’s care in order to maintain professional and ethical boundaries and practices. For example, professional counselors frequently work with clients with addiction issues. Addiction counselors may work with clients who also have a co-occurring disorder. The specific roles of each of these counselors are well defined; straying into an area outside your scope of practice is unethical. How would you work independently as a counselor within your scope of practice as well as collaboratively with other mental health professionals to ensure quality client care? What is the role of a counselor in a multidisciplinary team? Describe the ethical issues involved in the supervisor-counselor relationship. How is this relationship similar to the counselor-client relationship? How is it different?Outline a series of criteria and describe how you would integrate the criteria into an ethical decision-making model to respond to issues of incompetence and/or unethical conduct by fellow counselors.Clearly describe what you consider to be the most important developments in your thinking about ethical practice that have occurred during this course. This may include areas in which you have clarified your views and beliefs, modified your thinking on a given issue, gained new insights, or acquired a new perspective. It may include issues whose complexity you now appreciate more fully or difficult issues that you now understand you must grapple with, as a counselor. What have you most learned about yourself and/or about what constitutes becoming an ethical practitioner and how has your thinking about ethics and legal issues changed? Be sure that you include specific examples to illustrate general statements.
