Use the Law of Superpostion to figure out the stratigraphy of the site and the Law of Association to figure out the dates of each stratum as well as with which stratum each feature is associated.

Project description
Assignment: Sheepen is the name of a real farm that once stood on the outskirts of modern Colchester, England. In 1929 the local government acquired the property for the construction of a major new highway leading out of the modern city. Archaeologists quickly organized and were able to conduct intermittent excavations between 1930 and 1939 in an attempt to salvage information before the construction of the road destroyed all evidence of past activities. They discovered several sites during these excavations, including Site A4, the site from which I have adapted this project. Site A4 was located just north of a Roman-period road that led into Colonia Victriciensis, the Latin name for Roman-era Colchester. In antiquity the site stood immediately outside of the citys ancient boundaries in an area that was only briefly used by the Roman colonists. A little west of Site A4 was an excellent spring used by local sheep farmers until 1929 and presumably by the Romans as well. The excavation of Site A4 caused quite a sensation at the time as nowhere else in Colchester or in England has an archaeological site produced so many military artifacts (see Hawkes and Hull, 1947).

Your assignment is to imagine that you were the primary investigator of the excavations at the A4 Sheepen site. Using your knowledge of Roman pottery sequences, the history and archaeology of Colchester (consult the de la Bdoyre textbook for details on Colchester) as well as the evidence presented here about the features, artifacts, and ecofacts from the site, fill in the worksheets below. TYPE your answers in all boxes except those that have a grey background, the boxes will expand as you add text. Use the Law of Superpostion to figure out the stratigraphy of the site and the Law of Association to figure out the dates of each stratum as well as with which stratum each feature is associated.

You will hand in only the worksheets at the end of this project, do not include the instructions or the images.

How prepared were the colonists for independence?

Project description
Make your own thesis comparing the two articles and argue it. Compare and Contrast Bolivars Jamaica letter and Sarimento Facundo, focusing on how each addresses “colonial legacies”. How did the two authors characterize Spain and Spanish. How prepared were the colonists for independence? Were authors optimistic or pessimistic that Latin America could emerge from colonialism to produce a democracy. STICK TO DIFFERENCES, not similarities. Use BRIEF reference from adelmans, the problems of Persistence, but mainly stick to the two primary sources. They say how Argentina have “legitimate authority”, and are willing to go to great lengths to protect others even if it means killing someone else he compares captain to “military leaders” he is saying how they fight off the barbarians pretty well.

What are the risk factors associated with the epidemiological concern?
What public health recommendation can you make to alleviate your identified epidemiological concern?

This project should demonstrate your ability to analyze the benefits and challenges of multiculturalism and diversity in a global context and recommend solutions.

For this assignment I would like for you to do an infograph. They have free templates if you google infographic. An infographic is not a paper/essay. If you are unsure of what it is please do not wait until the last minute to contact me or send me just anything. Just google it to gain an understanding of what it looks likes and complete according to the directions above. You can choose whichever topic you choose from the web resources above as long as the questions are addressed. Thank you

Discuss how you would be able to tell when you or someone else commits this kind of logical fallacy.

Project description
PHILOSOPHY EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT (40 POINTS MAXIMUM)

To begin with, you will want to read the Stanford section on logic to get a better notion of its fundamental philosophical principals at: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/logic-classical/

In this way, it can be seen that logic requires a system of meaning that is mutually agreed upon by its users. Yet, as we shall see, a formal system of logic is not always so easy to employ. Then, please investigate the FOLLOWING KINDS OF LOGICAL FALLACIES listed below. Write a four (4) page (approximately 1000 word) paper that discusses 10 of these 15 different types of LOGICAL FALLACIES.

1. Define the meaning and function of 10 terms. You may pick any 10 out of the 15 provided.

2. Provide your own example for each kind of logical fallacy and discuss how you would be able to tell when you or someone else commits this kind of logical fallacy.

The paper should follow these guidelines for effectively organized writing:

Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph for the essay.

Each of the terms should be addressed in a single paragraph with a topic sentence and supporting sentences.

Adhere to standard rules of grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.

The format of the paper is to be as follows:

Typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one-inch margins on all sides, APA format.

In addition to the four (4) pages assigned, a title page with the title of the assignment, your name, the instructors name, the course title, and the date is to be included, as well as a Reference Page.

Sources documented using APA style for in-text citations and listed on the References Page using APA style format.

FALLACIOUS REASONING

AMPHIBOLY

This fallacy is used when the speaker purposely uses awkward construction to confuse the listenerusually with a dangling participle. For example, Being beat up, he was able to buy the car for only $500. More examples of amphiboly can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/amphibol.html

ARGUING FROM AUTHORITY

This argument suggests the validity of a statement based simply on the prestige of the supporter rather than on evidence. For instance, The President of the United States uses BRAND X; therefore that brand is the best. More examples of arguing from authority can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/authorit.html

ARGUMENTUM AD HOMINEM

Also called Poisoning the Well. If an argument attacks the man, rather than what he says, the speaker has used Argumentum ad hominem. For instance, He is a convicted felon, so he can not be a reliable witness to this crime. More examples of argumentum ad hominem can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/adhomine.html

ARGUMENTUM AD IGNORANTIUM

This argument from ignorance professes that something must be true because there is no evidence to disprove it. For example, religious people often contend that God exists because there is no proof that He does not exists. However, if this were logical, we also contend that unicorns exists. More examples of argumentum ad ignorantium can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/ignorant.html

ARGUMENTUM AD MISERICORDIAM

This fallacy appeals to the emotion of pity rather than the facts. For example, My client would not have committed the crime because he was seven children at home in a one-bedroom house with no heat, and his youngest daughter is dying of cancer. In this case, the lawyer draws attention away from the evidence of the crime by making the jury feel sorry for the accused. More examples of argumentum ad misericordiam can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/emotiona.html

BEGGING THE QUESTION

One begs the question when he employs the same statement as a premise and the conclusion or when he assumes the conclusion to be true and bases a premise on that conclusion. We also call this circular argumentation. More examples of begging the question can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/begquest.html

COMPOSITION

The fallacy of composition occurs when a person asserts that what is true of a part is true of the whole. For example, because a person sees one elderly person who is a bad driver, she assumes that all elderly people are bad drivers. More examples of the fallacy of composition can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/composit.html

DIVISION

Also called, dicto simplicter, this fallacy of division occurs when someone assumes that what is true of the whole is necessarily true of every part. For instance, one might safely state that the United States is a wealthy nation. However, this does not mean that John Does is wealthy because he is a citizen of the United States. More examples of dicto simplicter can be found at http://www.fallacyfiles.org/accident.html

FALSE ANALOGY

A person uses a false analogy when that person compares two things which are not necessarily the same. For example, a student might claim that since a carpenter can look at blueprints while he is building a house, the student should be able to use notes while taking a test. More examples of false analogies can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/wanalogy.html

HASTY GENERALIZATION

This fallacy calls for a conclusion before sufficient evidence is collected. For example, Each of the last three times we have been to matinee movie, kids have talked during the whole movie. Therefore, we should avoid kids at the show because they always talk. More examples of hasty generalizations can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/hastygen.html

IGNORANTIO ELENCHI

This fallacy, also known as irrelevant conclusion, occurs when an argument proposes to prove one thing, but instead concludes with something else. For example, one may intend to prove that the Florida Marlins have a better team than the Atlanta Braves. However, the argument moves to the conclusion that the Marlins have spent more money for their team. This may be true, but it is not the conclusion originally sought. More examples of ignorantio elenchi can be at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/redherrf.html

NON SEQUITUR

Literally, Non Sequitur means does not follow, and, therefore, most fallacious arguments contain a non sequitur. In particular, it occurs when the premises are true, but the conclusion does not logically follow. For example, someone might say, I have never been in an accident before while drinking. I can still walk in a straight line after these four beers. Therefore, I am safe to drive on the freeway at sixty-five miles per hour. More examples of non sequiturs, in the form of the cartoon Non Sequitur can be found at: http://www.arcamax.com/nonsequitur

POST HOC

An argument which uses Post Hoc established a cause-effect relationship simply because one event precedes another in time. For example, I walked under a ladder. Then I tripped and hurt my ankle. Walking under the ladder brought me bad luck. More examples of post hoc argumentation can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/posthocf.html

SLIPPERY SLOPE

This fallacy takes its name from a sad situation where one loses footing, begins to slide, and cannot regain controlas on a muddy slope. It applies when one foresees consequences well beyond what is logical. For example: Mom, if you dont extend my curfew, Ill never get a date, and then Ill never have a boyfriend and Ill die an old maid. More slippery slope arguments can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/slipslop.html

STRAW MAN

This fallacy is used when one attacks a position similar to, but different from his opponent. For example, one candidate, citing the First Amendment, allows for an adult-only movie theater. His opponent then claims the first candidate supports pornography. More Straw Man fallacies can be found at: http://www.fallacyfiles.org/strawman.html

What is the purpose of Levene’s Test?

Project description
Coursework Brief

For this coursework you are required to perform an independent samples t-test using SPSS. Your solution should be word-processed and submitted electronically. Your solution should include any output produced from the analysis, and an account of the methods you used to obtain that output.

The problem:

150 students, selected at random from the students studying Business Management at Level 1 in Welsh universities, took part in an Entrepreneurship Project and were marked on a scale of 0 to 100. They were also asked to record whether they had studied Business at A-level or equivalent standard before entering university. Our analysis is carried out with the expectation that those who have studied Business previously will have an advantage in the project.

The data are in the SPSS datafile Entrepreneur.

Perform a suitable independent samples t-test on this data.

You should address the following questions, explaining your answers in detail:

(a)What is the population from which this sample was drawn?
(b)What is the purpose of Levene’s Test? Explain why it is important that Levene’s Test is included in the output for this independent samples t-test

(c)What is the Null hypothesis for Levene’s Test?
(d)Do we accept or reject the null hypothesis for Levenes Test? Explain why.
(e)Which of the two t-tests labelled Equal variances assumed and Equal variances not assumed should we use? Explain why.

(f)In order to apply the t-test, what assumption do we make about the distribution of the errors?
(g)What is the null hypothesis for the t-test?
(h)Do we accept or reject the null hypothesis for the t-test? Explain why.

(i)Is it appropriate to use a one-tailed or two-tailed test here? Explain why.
(j)What overall conclusion can we draw from this output? include a reference to the minimum difference between the marks of students who have or have not studied Business at A-Level that you would expect to find in the population.

Key Marking criteria will include:

Accuracy of the calculations

Appropriateness of the methodology

Clarity and conciseness of the descriptions of the methodology

Illustrate the possible placement of servers including access paths to the Internet and firewalls.

Project description
Project Deliverable 4: Infrastructure and Security

Due Week 8 and worth 150 points

This assignment consists of two (2) sections: an infrastructure document and a revised Gantt chart or project plan. You must submit both sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment for which it is written. Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.

The last section of the project plan will present the infrastructure in accordance with the parameters set forth at the outset of the project. The network solution that is chosen should support the conceived information system and allow for scalability. The network infrastructure will support organizational operations; therefore, a pictorial view of workstations, servers, routers, bridges, gateways, and access points should be used. In addition, access paths for Internet access should be depicted. A narrative should be included to explain all the nodes of the network and the rationale for the design. Lastly, using the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) Triangle, define the organizational security policy. CIA is a widely used benchmark for evaluation of information systems security.

Section 1: Infrastructure Document

1. Write a five to ten (5-10) page infrastructure document in which you:

a. Design a logical and physical topographical layout of the planned network through the use of graphical tools in Microsoft Word or Visio, or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.

b. Illustrate the possible placement of servers including access paths to the Internet and firewalls. Note: Facility limitations, workstations, printers, routers, switches, bridges and access points should be considered in the illustration.

c. Explain the rationale for the logical and physical topographical layout of the planned network.

d. Create a comprehensive security policy for the company that will:

i. Protect the company infrastructure and assets by applying the principals of CIA. Note: CIA is a widely used benchmark for evaluation of information systems security, focusing on the three core goals of confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

ii. Address ethical aspects related to employee behavior, contractors, password usage, and access to networked resources and information.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the students name, the professors name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
Include charts or diagrams created in MS Visio or Dia as an appendix of the infrastructure document. All references to these diagrams must be included in the body of the infrastructure document.

Section 2: Revised Gantt Chart / Project Plan

Use Microsoft Project or an open source alternative, such as Open Project, to:

2. Update the Gantt chart or project plan (summary and detail) template, from Project Deliverable 3: Database and Programming Design, with all the project tasks.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

Demonstrate an understanding of existing and emerging information technologies and strategic impact on organizational operations.
Evaluate the issues and challenges associated with information technology integration.
Evaluate the ethical concerns that information technology solve or present in a global context.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in information technology.
Write clearly and concisely about strategic issues and practices in the information technology domain using proper writing mechanics and technical style conventions.

Summarize Fairlies description of the sin and its manifestations in our society.

Project description
The chapters on Envy, Avarice, and Lust are on Blackboard. In his book, Fairlie discusses these sins (or inclinations to sin) in the context of contemporary society (the book was written in 1978, but the writing is powerful, and most concerns remain true in 2014). Keep in mind that deadly sins are sins, not mainly in the sense of action, but mainly in the sense of alienation (from other people, God, and oneself) and enslavement (power of the sin over the sinner). Please include the following in your paper:
1. Summarize Fairlies description of the sin and its manifestations in our society.
2. Present your evaluation of Fairlies description. Does he argue his case effectively? Do you agree or disagree with him? Do you understand this sin in a different way? Can you add examples?
3. Discuss ways in which your analysis (or Fairlies) can be helpful; for example, by explaining current social problems, alerting us to dangers to avoid or challenges to confront, aiding you in your own moral decision making, etc.

The paper should be double-spaced and typed or computer printed using a standard font of 12 points, with 1 inch margins, and follow proper academic form. The suggested length is about 5 pages. The paper should reflect your understanding of the reading and relevant material from the text and class; your own insights; and reasons given for your position. Please proofread, and make sure that any sources used are fully documented.
