Then address the following questions:
1. What makes this building modern, within the context of the late 19th or early 20th century? You might reference our discussion on the first day of class and/or Curtis, Chapter 1. William J.R. Curtis, Modern Architecture Since 1900, 3rd edition
2. Does this building exemplify, or stray from, Louis Sullivans famous dictum that form ever follows function? Explain, using specific references to assigned readings and your observations of the building during our field trip.
Papers must be double spaced, with 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font and 1 margins. Submit your papers through NYU Classes (I do not accept emailed papers). Papers submitted after the due date and time will be marked down one full grade for each day late. I will not accept papers that are more than 2 days late, except in emergency situations.
