In Unit I, you have been reading about European explorers and their reports on their findings when coming to the “New World” and interacting with the native populations. You have been asked to look closely at how Columbus’s report was designed to “sell” his explorations to his queen, and you have been asked to compare Columbus’s report of his contact with natives to native culture revealed in native stories.

Now, you are asked to critique a 2012 book review by Jeremy Adelman, entitled “The First Global Man: The Americas Before Columbus.” Adelman’s book report discusses journalist Charles Mann’s two major books that re-explore significant events in 1492 and 1493 and their lasting controversial legacies. It can be found in the CSU Online Library’s Academic OneFile database.

Your will create a Slideshare titled: How a Lot of Employees Cheat a Little at Work. Take your inspiration from Dan Ariely’s Ted Talk, “Our Buggy Moral Code” and concepts from Chapters 1-4 to create a Slideshare about unethical workplace behavior. ASSIGNMENT:

Scenario: You are the head E.C.E. teacher for the preschool room. It is time to set up parent conferences. You would like Mrs Howes  to attend the conference to discuss Johnny’s progress. Johnny is 3 years old and has just recently graduated to the preschool room. Johnny really enjoys creative art activities. You believe that it is his favorite part of the curriculum. On occasion, during pick up time you have noticed that Mrs. Howes has rolled her eyes, huffed and appeared uninterested in Johnny’s artwork.

Students will describe in detail the location of the conference, the waiting room, resources provided (if any) and how they would prepare themselves for the conference. Conference Summary: Students will also include a summary of the conference outlining details such as 1. Why they feel a parent-teacher conference is important 2. What components need to be included to enhance the success of a parent-teacher conference and 3. Why they would include the required documents for the parent-teacher conference (5 marks).

DIRECTIONS:
