Read the story and then answer the four discussion questions on page 213. by writing a 3-5 page paper using references only from the book. Chapter 3, “Solving Problems Analytically and Creatively.” Chapter 3 starts on page 167.

Discussion Questions

1. Consider the four approaches to creativity. What approach(es) has Apple relied

upon? What alternatives have other firms in the industry pursued? What other

alternatives could Apple implement?

2. Assume you were a consultant to the CEO at Apple. What advice would you give

on how Apple could capitalize on its creativity? How can Apple make money based

on its own inclination to pursue creativity in certain ways?

3. What are the major obstacles and conceptual blocks that face Apple right now?

What do employees need to watch out for?

4. What tools for fostering creative problem solving are applicable to Apple, and which

would not be workable? Which ones do you think are used the most there?

What you will do is write a response in APA format that will be 3-5 pages long, answering the discussion questions. You will read the case assigned and answer the questions at the end. It should generally take about 3-5 pages (typed and single-spaced please) to adequately answer the questions for each case. Yes or no answers are not ever adequate. Try to look at the question the same as a good reporter would. Answer “Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How”. Your analysis will be graded based upon your logical thought, your use of principles from the text (shown in APA citation), and your writing skills.

Please be sure to give examples of each type of cost.  If there is something you are unsure about, you are welcome to also include that in your post. For example, if you know that healthcare organizations often have cost associated with taxes, but you aren’t sure what type of cost that would be, take the opportunity to pose the question. As long as you provide an example of each type of cost, if you pose a question to get help figuring out what type of cost something is, your grade will not be negatively impacted.  Remember that DQs are a chance for collaborative learning.

DISCUSSION 2Discussion Question 2: Inventory Valuation Methods

Healthcare organizations have many reasons to effectively manage their inventory, including implantable device tracking, investment protection and contract compliance. An effective inventory control system must in place in order to meet clinical and financial requirements.

Describe the two most commonly used inventory valuation methods. Explain how each method effects the financial statement of the organization. If you were the CFO of an organization, which method would you prefer and why?

Throughout this course, you have worked on a course project designed to help you identify human services in your community and determine how such services meet the needs of certain at-risk populations, including people living in poverty, children and adolescents, the disabled, AIDS and HIV patients, the elderly, the homeless, victims of abuse, battered women, substance abusers, people with mental illnesses, and offenders.

You first identified an agency for use in your course project. You developed a list of questions for an interview with a human services professional in a chosen agency. You made revisions to your questions based on facilitator feedback for your interview. You then conducted your interview with the key human services professional working at the agency. In addition, you carried out additional research on the agency using the library, local resources, and the Internet.

For this assignment, complete and submit a PowerPoint presentation on the selected agency/organization. Apply the theories covered in the readings of this course to analyze the institution. Include the following in your presentation:

• Identify the agency/organization and describe its mission statement.
• Describe the role or position of the human services professional interviewed.
• List and describe the range or types of services the agency/organization provides.
• Describe the population the agency/organization serves and explain the broader social needs and issues that affect this population.
