When the term group work is used students often think about working with others on a specific piece of work. A group is much more than this and we can find ourselves in a group in not only educational settings but in social and professional settings.
A group may be defined as a number of individuals who join together to achieve a goal (Johnson & Johnson, 2006, p. 5). People within groups, although working towards the same outcome may not always have or agree on the same approach. Working in groups and teams can therefore be difficult and challenging, especially when people have different points of views. Reflect on a time you have been a member of a social or professional group (do not use other peoples names) and;
