Write a short essay on native americans history.
As the industrial age gave way to the information age and knowledge workers became the powerhouse for competitive advantage, the paradigms for creating an effective organization have been transformed. Hierarchical management cultures are typically too cumbersome for todays change driven competitive environment. Teamwork and teams have become key watchwords for building organizational effectiveness. Leadership is not inborn but developed through self-awareness, personal discipline, the development of skills and the application of proven techniques. High levels of motivation and workplace passion are achieved (with the satisfaction of basic extrinsic factors) through linking with and levering intrinsic factors. Clearly this all defines a much more complex environment. Its a demanding environment that continuously challenges executives and managers to craft and lead an organization that can flexibly deliver a highly focused performance: flexibility that allows quick response to immediate customer needs and changing market environments; focus that assures unity of effort to achieve organization objectives and competitive superiority. Are you seeing indications the firm is deeply invested in actualizing a culture that both honors and cultivates the value of each individual? Is there a strong focus on intrinsic motivation? Does the organization operate with unity of effort? Or are these elements hard to find or missing? These wont be listed in financial statements.
Assessing how well an organization meets the challenges described above means exploring and critically assessing questions like:
Does the organization structure effectively support meeting and responding to the unique needs of the firms global competitive environment?
How well does the organization focus and capitalize on individual differences?
Is productive conflict supported?
Is an effective leadership model (that supports the objectives) fostered and effectively deployed?
How does management foster productive organization learning?
How does the culture support organization objectives?
How does the organization motivate performance?
the Jeffersonian Ascendancy and the political turmoil of the 1790s will serve as an essential basis for understanding Jeffersons ideological / political concerns: his struggles with Hamilton and the Federalists over the decade offer a way of understanding Jeffersons vision of the good republic, while the policies he pursued as President can be used to consider whether and in what ways he was successful in reshaping the Republic.
Discuss the 6 Bases of Social Power, their definitions and how they present themselves in the workplace, or any agency that you are associated with. Try to use real examples and to describe/discuss each. Do not work together on these papers, and no two papers should be the same.

MAKING THE CONNECTION:
I. Introduction
What changes your mind? What topics and issues would you never change ideas and what topics and issues are you open to new information and other points of view? This week we discuss settling on your topic and claim for this persuasive assignment.
II. Body
A. Persuasive speaking is intended to influence others in an ethical way.
1. We can influence others by reinforcing or changing how they think (attitudes).
2. We can influence others by reinforcing or changing how they behave (habits).
3. We can influence others by reinforcing or changing how they act (decisions).
4. Persuasion is about influence through reasonable discussion, it is not about trickery, force or deception. Persuasion should acknowledge that reasonable people have differing points of view.
B. Persuasive speeches begin with claims the territory the speaker stakes out or claims. This is the main thesis you argue in a persuasive speech. These claims can be one of three types:
1. Claims of fact address what is true or not true. Is smoking bad for your health?
2. Claims of value ask what is good/right. Is it wrong to sell a dangerous product?
3. Claims of policy address what should be done. Should cigarettes be banned?
C. Persuasive speeches may be organized in several ways and we will focus on problem/solution and Monroes motivated sequence.
1. Problem/solution speeches address the way people think or hold attitudes about claims. Cell phone use while driving causes accidents and should be banned. This claim divides into two main points, problem and solution.
I. Problem Cell phone use while driving causes accidents.
A. Describe the problem – examples of cell use and accidence
B. Describe the magnitude of the problem statistics about kinds, frequency and severity of accidents.
II. Solution Cell phone use while driving should be banned.
A. Describe the solution pass a law banning use and establishing penalties
B. Describe how and why the solution works examples from other states, enforcement
2. Monroes motivated sequence should be used with an audience that is already sympathetic to your goal and ready to act on it. This pattern follows a persons attitude process and involves a five point outline.
I. Attention A life could be saved every eight minutes.
II. Need Thousands of people are waiting for organ donation.
III. Satisfaction Signing the organ donor card is a simple but important.
IV. Visualization Imagine saving someones life.
V. Call to action Sign your license and talk to a loved one about it.
III. Conclusion

This week puts psychedelics in a historical context. Why is this so important to look at it from this pespective, and what do we have to learn from this? Our society doesnt readily recognize the value of altered states of consciousness -if it was more readily accepted would it benefit us culturally?
